What Makes Us Different
Many Masters level counselling programs are now being offered online but few integrate ongoing live supervision and peer consultation. Many Play Therapy programs also don’t offer the practical component of supervisors reviewing audio and video recordings of actual live client sessions.
Students are deprived of the opportunity to learn the private practice and business acumen that is required when working in Group Practices, Private Practice or non-related Agency work.
This led to the development of our Practical Counselling Training Program, our Play Therapy and High-Conflict programs that incorporate neurodiversity, gender affirming care, trauma, and other relevant issues that our current society is experiencing.
Our programs are built to be inclusive in our language and in our training. We offer specialized training in the area of Play Therapy and High-Conflict that specifically recognizes these challenges not only in our Foundational Courses but also in our Elective Modules we offer.
All of our programs are offered online and can be downloaded and completed any time. They can be purchased as full programs with proof of completion provided and/or individual modules can be purchased and proof of attendance will be provided so that you can earn ECE credits.
Our program is approved and promoted by various regulatory bodies, such as CCPA (CCC Designation) BCCAC (RCC Designation) in British Columbia and can be counted as ECE credits.
Our program also offers additional support, such as peer supervision, and our supervisors offering feedback to video and audio recordings of client sessions.
Various times are offered each week for Peer Supervision sessions where a therapist can bring forward cases and consult with a Supervisor on a particular case via Zoom. During these sessions, presentations on various topics are often conducted by the supervisor or by their peers and additional real-time learning can occur.
Members of our Educational Program can also present their own learnings, articles or presentations and share their own learning and specialization areas.
For each one-hour ECE Credit taken with Crossroads Collective Learning Institute you are also provided with one hour of Group Supervision to attend or use this time towards a supervisor reviewing your client video or audio recorded sessions.
In order to receive the proof of completion in either Practical Counselling, Play Therapy or the High Conflict program, the following is required:
- A minimum of 500 Direct Client Hours be completed in your registered program. For example, the play therapy program would be required you complete 500 hours seeing clients in the capacity of play therapy.
- 40 Hour of Peer Supervision Attendance
- 1 Supervision Hour for Every 8 clients with a minimum of two supervision sessions per month until you complete the program
- 4 – 6 client videos be reviewed during the program before receiving your proof of completion of your program.
